Who is a counselor?
A counselor is a mental health professional that assists people with many different aspects of life. This includes assisting them with emotional health betterment and career issues. Counselors address mental and emotional disorders via therapeutic techniques used to address typical mental health issues such as stress, rejection, addiction, personal loss and grief only to mention a few.
In addition, they also help individuals with career problems, educational decisions, and relationship issues. Counselors work with fixed hours on prior confirmed appointments and charge a fee per session. Counseling, helps YOU find your OWN answers and become more in charge of your own life so that you live your life rather than be lived by it. It helps you clarify your thoughts and feelings, in a non-judgmental climate.
How long does counseling take?
Counseling duration or therapy sessions are completely dependent on the individual and the problem that they are presenting. The Counselor will discuss the treatment plan in detail with the client that is necessary to achieve his goals.
What can I expect at a counseling session?
It is very normal to feel nervous, anxious and even worried at your first counseling session. It takes a lot of courage to come share your emotions and life experiences with someone you don’t know at all and you have just met.
However, the counseling atmosphere is always comfortable and free from judgment.
Depending on your needs, the counselor will works with you to set accurate goals, change behaviors, maximize your potential, improve relationships and make positive changes in your life.
How do I get billed?
Each session lasts one hour. You will be billed after every session.
How do I know I need counseling?
There are times in everyone’s life when some issues or events cause us severe emotional distress, problems in relationships or change how we view ourselves. To an extent that it disrupts our everyday normal functioning. People become overwhelmed with their emotions or their have problems in their relationships. They might have difficulty concentrating at work, school, and college or withdraw completely from friends and family, or find their emotional pain unbearable.
Increased anxiety, nagging sadness and disinterest from everyday fun activities, loss of sleep, no appetite, communicating problems, increased anger, mood swings, isolation from friends and loved ones are all basic symptoms to beware! Trained professional can help you through these difficulties and teach you the skills to handle the problems and issues that create these symptoms.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes, everything discussed with the counselor is confidential at all times. No information will be disclosed without the client’s written consent. The only limitations to this core rule is when a client either is a threat to themselves or someone else, or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be shared.

Scheduling the next appointment?
You will need to fix the next appointment before you leave the clinic with the counselor so that she can confirm your date and time, respectively. Alternatively, you can call the clinic and speak with the front office or send an email to make the next available appointment.
